A 2006 honda civic hybrid is a new type of car developed only recently. How it works is that it has a small internal combustion gas engine in the front, smaller than other type of car. This engine builds up electricity to power the electric motors. These motors can accelerate the car more efficiently than a normal car powered by only a gas engine. This is because accelerating takes a lot of gas, but on a 2006 honda hybrid, the gas engine doesn't have to run the hard when it is accelerating. The electric motors power the car off the energy already stored up by the engine when braking or at idle, and as a result, substantially lesser gas is used.
